Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School proudly celebrates one of our distinguished alumnae, Nana Afra, affectionately known in professional circles as Lydia Dwuma. A proud member of the 1993 O’Level year group. She embodies the excellence, resilience, and grace that define the true spirit of Ahemmaa.
Hailing from Asante Bekwai, where she is revered as the Atenee Hemaa, Nana Afra has seamlessly blended tradition and modern leadership; representing her roots with dignity even as she shines on the global stage.
Professionally, she is a shining star in the healthcare sector in the United States. A Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner in Adult-Gerontology and Acute Care. She serves as a Hemapheresis Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Radiation Oncology at VA Dallas, under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Defense. Her work not only impacts lives but also contributes to pioneering healthcare solutions for military veterans and civilians alike.
Nana Afra’s journey is a beacon of hope and inspiration for the current generation of Kumasi Girls. Her achievements remind us all that from the halls of our beloved school, greatness is born—and it knows no boundaries.
